Who am I? Business economist and accountant, with 25 years of technical EPM experience 'under my belt'. An acquaintance in the EPM world. I know the trade on both sides: figures and IT. A must for every EPM consultant. As a controller and later consultant, I implemented and optimized Oracle and Hyperion EPM systems at mid-size and large multinational companies. I have seen and experienced a lot. And you know? In those 25 years a lot hasn't really changed that much.

Yeah, of course. The tech is faster, more powerful. Interfaces look more modern. Solutions have been added such as for planning, forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation and tax reporting. And the integrability of the packages is much better than before. But in essence, an EPM package still has the same basis and calculation functionality. So why am I starting a new company and why do I exclusively choose Oracle - Hyperion EPM? Just: to do it better.

Because there is a downside to the long status quo. The services provided by consultants have also remained the same. Not always the best solution for the customer is advised. But the latest EPM applications that do more or less the same as existing packages, are often complex, expensive and risky to implement.

We have no interest in selling other packages or licenses. After all, most of our clients already have an Oracle or Hyperion EPM system. On the contrary, we are good at optimising these systems and always being there for them, even in emergencies.

Bottom-line is the question: why should you opt for an expensive implementation of a new package that does the same as your current Hyperion EPM system? Often no idea. The risk of failure is present and in the end you get little or nothing out of it. Think carefully first, I would say. And last but not least: do we have an EPM Service Center that offers full support and 24/7 incident management at a fixed, fair monthly rate?
