Spot on: Fred Admiraal. "I like to make the work of others easier."

Meet Fred Admiraal, independent partner at Bart & Partners.

What is your background?

I studied business economics. First at the HEAO, later at the Vrije Universiteit. It was here that I came into contact with the EPM consultancy field, through a professor. He had his own consultancy company, where I could get started. After three years, I switched to Finext, where I worked with pleasure for six years. But I always wanted to work for myself, so I took the plunge and have been doing so for 16 years now.

What do you do in your free time?

You will find me a lot on and around the football field. I am goalkeeper trainer at DVVA in Amsterdam, I am on the technical committee and I hover around the selection. I find that very nice to do. I have played goalkeeping at all levels. One year as a full professional at FC Volendam and the rest always in amateur football. Apart from football, I love travelling, skiing and nice trips.

What is your speciality?

My expertise is planning and budgeting with the software of Oracle, formerly Hyperion. I have been doing this for almost 25 years.

Why Bart & Partners?

More than two years ago, Bart van Velzen unveiled his plans for Bart & Partners. They really appealed to me, so I said: 'I'm happy to join, as long as I can remain independent and do great things through and with you'. And in that construction we have been working together very well and with great pleasure for more than two years now.

Why as an independent partner?

I attach great value to my independence and freedom. I want to be able to score my own assignments in addition to those of Bart & Partners.

What do you like about your work?

In terms of content, I like to puzzle and come up with smart solutions. My intrinsic drive is that I enjoy making other people's work easier. Controllers should not be busy making Excel sheets and doing automation things. They should be primarily concerned with content, because that is where they provide value for the company.

What do you think is typical for Bart & Partners?

Their incredible enthusiasm and positive energy. It just bursts out of them. I love experiencing that. The enormous pleasure and positivity with which Bart and Bart work is really special. I've been working with these guys for two years now and I haven't experienced them in any other way.
