The Ronald McDonald House - A home away from home
For 35 years, the Ronald McDonald Children's Fund has been ensuring that families can be together when they need each other most: when their child is sick. In twelve Ronald McDonald Houses, parents and siblings stay within walking distance of the hospital, so they are always nearby for a kiss, a hug or a bedtime story. In twelve Ronald McDonald House Rooms, families can escape the "white walls" of the hospital for a while and relax in a homey atmosphere. In three Ronald McDonald vacation homes, families with a child with a disability or illness can enjoy a carefree vacation. The Ronald McDonald Houses receive no subsidy and depend on sponsors, donors and on 1,900 volunteers.
